Question.What do I get?

Each Biggles Software CD contains a full Systems Description / Study Guide containing all the chapters you would find in a Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) / Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), including electrical, fuel and hydraulic system schematics, plus autoflight and powerplant (engines and APU), descriptions.

Question.Will the software work on my PC / Apple Macintosh / Linux desktop or laptop computer?

Yes. The files will work on any computer that has an internet-style browser.

Question.Will the software work on my iPhone / SmartPhone / PDA / Netbook / Tablet computer?

Yes. The files will work on any computer that has an internet-style browser.

There are 2 conditions:

  • You need to be able to transfer the files onto the device.
  • You need to know how to access local files on your device.

Unfortunately, as there are so many devices available, Biggles Software is unable to answer questions about all individual devices.

Question.I want to order 2 aircraft types (such as Boeing 737NG and Boeing 767). but there is no option to do this. Why not?

Dual order options and discounts are only available for the Airbus A320 & A330 and for the Boeing 757 & 767 as these are the 2 options most airlines have as Cross Cockpit Qualification.

Question.I have just ordered a CD. What happens next?

Once Biggles Software receives your order from PayPal, you will be sent an email by Biggles Software confirming your order.

Question.How long it will take for my CD to be delivered?

Irrespective of country, all CDs for destinations outside the UK are mailed as Airmail, Small Packet. (This allows Biggles Software to minimise mailing costs.)

The intention is to mail your CD within 48 hours of ordering; however, sometimes this may not be possible.

Once mailed, you can expect your CD to arrive:

  • Europe and the UK : Within 5 working days.
  • Outside Europe : Within 10 working days.

Question.Can I download the software while waiting for my CD?

Yes. The email from Biggles Software thats acknowledges your order will also provide a link to a download page.

Question.I have downloaded my software. Will I still get a CD?

Yes.

Question.Why will the CD not autorun/autostart when I put it into my computer?

The CD will not autorun/autostart on newer Apple products, as Apple have removed ability to autorun/autostart CDs.

Question.Why is my CD noisy?

Unless the data is stored as a single file (such as with a music CD), the CD head has to skip and jump from file to file, which may be noisy on some CD readers.

Question.Why is my CD slow to run?

There are 2 reasons:

  • A CD head has to jump much larger distances than a hard disk head, which slows down data transfer.
  • Data transfer rates depend on buffer, cache and bus speeds, which are almost always slower on CD drives.

The files will always run quicker when installed onto your computer's hard drive.

Question.JavaScript - Why do I need to have JavaScript enabled to access all of the software?

You do not need to have JavaScript enabled to access all of the software, but the presentation will be different.

Question.iPad - Why can I not download your zip file direct to my iPad?

The iPad browser (Safari) does not allow zip file downloads, this allows Apple to control what software is 'installed'.

Question.iPad - Why can I not use my bluetooth connection to transfer the zip file across from my desktop/laptop computer?

The iPad's bluetooth connection is only for accessories such as keyboards and headsets, it does not allow data transfer. To transfer data files across to your iPad, you must use either a cable or wireless connection.

Question.iPad - I have transferred the zip file(s) over to my iPad, but I cannot open the file(s) using Safari. Why not?

Apple have prevented Safari from accessing locally-stored web pages (ones stored on the iPad itself). Instead you must use a third-party application such as GoodReader.

Question.How do cancel my order?

There are 2 ways to cancel your order:

Please note : If your CD has been mailed or you have downloaded your software, Biggles Software may elect to 'dispute the transaction' as, otherwise, you will be receiving goods that you don't want to pay for.

Question.I am a Flight Simulator enthusiast. Can I still order your software?

Unfortunately not. Biggles Software cannot distribute FCOM material to individuals/operators that are not already licensed by the airplane manufacturer to receive the material and who do not already have a paper/electronic copy distributed by their Flight Operations department.

Question.I represent a Type Rating Training Organisation. Do you supply Commercial Licences?

There are 2 types of Commercial Licence available:

One Year Commercial Licence

This is suitable for an organisation that either wishes to incorporate annual amendments to the Tech Info CD or only requires the licence for a limited time period. For this licence, a new CD would be provided each year reflecting the latest amendment state of the airline's technical manual.

Five Year Plus Commercial Licence

This is suited to an organisation that does not require yearly amendments and intends to use the Tech Info CD for an extended - unspecified - period of time.
